Heyday

Used to be the most avid Haji Lane-r, and by ‘avid’ I mean weekly trips to hunt for one-of-a-kind pieces, whether vintage or overpriced (thus one of a kind).

I went down to Fika for dinner today (awesome btw) with Jaimes and a quick walk down Haji Lane confirmed my long time suspicions- it’s heyday is long past. Aside from the fact I haven’t been able to find ANYTHING there in months (the top today was sheer luck), the quality of their clothing has been rapidly going downhill. Overtly flimsy typical blogshop-esque pieces, “leather” bags that don’t look anything close to even fleather (fake leather) and shoes as interesting as my trigonometry class. Even their accessories have stopped being amazing.

Compare: no clothes despite countless trips vs countless clothes on ONE trip to Far East Plaza (will do a post about the stores I think are amazing soon).

It’s quite sad, really. Still, there’s always shisha and that new Mexican place to keep the place alive until its next revival.

Tis the season..

A belated Merry Christmas from us!

May your 2012 be filled with awesome shoes, bags and show-stopping outfits.

Oh and, *typical Christmas well wishes*

Optimism at its finest

One good thing about Singapore’s recent erratic rains- it helps you decide which pair of shoes to wear when you suddenly have too many options.
